APOC Store’s name, in fact, is a mash-up of Anthropocene and epoch, two words that Suen and Volleberg feel summarize our current moment. “Unsurprisingly a lot of people have asked if it stands for ‘a person of color,’” says Suen. “Diversity is something that we really care about, especially as I’m a person of color. It’s really important to me, so we thought we should keep the Chadwick Boseman 1976 2020 signature shirt and I love this name. For me, it’s a reminder of work that we need to do about how notoriously undiverse the industry is and what we need to do to change that.”
